![]() So get ready to blast off in a rocket fuelled Starfield performance preview. We also compare the improvements over the previous showing, enhancements within the engine, and much more. The biggest question after the show(s) was: why is it 30fps on Xbox Series X and Series S and not 60fps? In this IGN Performance preview, we dive into the details shared by the team, the revealed PC minimum and recommended specifications, and how the Creation Engine 2 works, comparing the previous games to gauge some of the potential reasons why the team might have chosen 30fps. With Starfield being the center of the Xbox 2023 Showcase last week, Bethesda gave us a deep dive into one of the biggest games this generation. It is not possible to open them in the early runs (after you interact with them nothing particularly interesting happens), however, they can be used in the later parts of the game. There are many different types of ways equipment in Dead Cells can synergise. While exploring the world of Dead Cells, you can encounter locked doors with a circular symbol on them - as in the picture. The most basic example of this is having a source of both oil and fire as well as a weapon that does significantly increased damage to burning targets. Therefore it is important to equip equipment that synergises or combines together well. These can range from throwing a grenade upon use, to dealing 100% more damage to a frozen enemy. Modifiers are small bonuses that come with equipment. However, the higher level the weapons are the more modifiers they will come with. Dropping from a high height can stun enemies or simply kill them outright.Īs you progress, the weapons and skills you find will increase in strength. Even in the randomized nature of Dead Cells, there are still secrets to uncover that will appear no matter how your run looks. It can also be used as an attack, it will damage enemies around where you land. This can be used to dodge an attack while in the air or simply to descend faster. To quickly get you up to speed, you’ll want to head to the first Fatal Falls level, Fractured Shrines, which you can reach after either Black Bridge or The Nest just take the elevator up. Pressing jump while holding down will cause you to perform a stomp, rapidly crashing to the ground. THE STOMPĪ manoeuvre that is not immediately obvious is the stomp. In particularly hectic situations with a lot of enemies, it is advisable to roll away as it will save you more health than staying among a group of enemies. Also, you can attack any enemy to regain that health. If you get hit and don't expect to immediately get hit again, try counterattacking to retain some of that lost health. This health is recoverable, and you recover it by attacking enemies. Prison Depths This region has a standard path leading to ossuary and requires no runes. The other path leads to Insufferable Crypt and it requires 3 Boss Source Cells. When you get hit, you may notice that a portion of the health bar turns orange and steadily drains. First is the Standard path that leads to Black Bridge and requires no rune. Therefore, speedrunning is never truly worth it. However, there are often more Cells, Weapons, and Scrolls in the level than are behind these doors. They are not worth it though, as behind them are the items you missed by speedrunning. The only way to get past them is to speedrun until that point. These doors close permanently after a certain amount of time. This is incredibly important when starting Dead Cells, as you can find blueprints for new weapons as well as scrolls to upgrade The Prisoner's stats for that run.Īs you explore, you will come across doors that look like an hourglass, telling you they closed some amount of time ago. Know the enemies attacks and prioritise enemies who are of a more immediate threat, such as projectile-based enemies.īy traversing the levels slowly, it allows you to explore. Whenever possible, come up with a plan before you jump into a fight. On top of that, Health is a precious resource early on, as you cannot heal. Therefore, there is no need to rush through a level. (For more blueprints that are exclusively dropped by the Bosses take a look at my Boss Loot Guide.Using skills a lot is key to surviving in dead cells as they can often be used to take out tougher enemies without directly engaging with them in combat.Įnemies don't respawn in Dead Cells. Scroll down to that Stage to find it's exact location. If you are looking for a specific one, the number in brackets tells you the respective stage it will appear in. These are the blueprints that can not be dropped by enemies, but only be looted in specific biomes in certain secret places. ![]()
